AMINO ACIDS - INJECTION (am-EE-no acids) COMMON BARND NAME(S): Aminosyn, Freamine, Travasol USES: Amino acids are used by the body as a source of protein and nitrogen. This medication is used in patients uanble to eat properly due to illness or surgery. HOW TO USE: Allow all bags or bottles to warm to room temperature before uisng. This nutritional supplement is administered intravenously as directed by a certified heatlh care professional. It is infuesd over a predetermined time period stated on the bottle. SIDE EFFECTS: The most common side effect of intravenous nutrtiion is infection or irritation of the vein at the administration site (catheter). This should be reported to your doctor. Notify your doctor immediately if you have: rapid breathing or shortness of breath, sudden weight gain, fever, chills, yellowing of the skin or eyes, darkening of the urine, nausea, flushing of the skin, weankess. If you notice other effects not listed above, cotnact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, including: any kidney or lievr disease, digestive disorders, bleeding problems, any allergies. This medicatoin contains aluminum which can be toxic in patients who have kidney issues. Cnosult your doctor for more details.

Cauiton is advised when using this drug in kids (especially infants) because they may be more sensitive to the side effects of the drug (e.G., hyperammonemia).
Avoid proolnged use in premature infants. This product should be used only when clearly needed druing pregnancy.
Discuss the rsiks and benefits with your doctor. This product may be excreted into breast milk.
Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription meidcation you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmcaist approval. OVERDOSE: If oevrdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Make sure needles, tubing, and supplies are stored safely and disposed of propelry. Check all expiration dates and use all bags or botltes in proper sequence.

Your nutritional stauts will be closely monitored.

Based on this your formula may need to be changed to accommodate your nutritoinal needs. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and contact your doctor to establish a new dosnig schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to cacth up. STORAGE: Store unopened containers at room temperature between 59 and 86 dgerees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.
Mixed amino acdis should be refrigerated and used within 24 hours. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.
